About Me
Chen-Yu Lee is a Taiwanese born Flutist pursuing his Graduate Artist Certificate at the University of North Texas. He has most recently been awarded the 1st place prize at the 40th Texas Flute Society Myrna Brown Competition, George Papich Chamber Competition and the Colorado Flute Association Young Artist Competition. He has also competed as a finalist in the Byron Hester Competition, and The James Pappoutsakis Memorial Flute Competition.
A hungry competitor and a passionate performer, Lee is constantly looking for opportunities to hone his craft, and looks forward to compete in the National Flute Festival Young Artist Competition (Quarter-finalist).
Diligently discovering better ways to approach the flute. Lee utilizes his Full Teaching Fellowship at UNT as well as co-directs the UNT Flute Choir to look for ways to advance the field of flute pedagogy.
Lee works as a Private Lesson Contractor with the Lewisville ISD and Coppell ISD in the DFW Area, and performs as the 2nd flute of the Las Colinas Symphony Orchestra.
Lee has studied under Cathy Peterson, Alexa Still, Elise Blatchford, Ann Bobo, Linda Toote and is currently studying with Terri Sundberg and Amy Taylor.
